Modern Slavery Statement

November 2025 – November 2026

Havant Homecare is a provider of care services to older people in their own homes across our local communities. Our commitment is to provide services that support people over the age of 18 to remain safely at home with the right support. The people we support are predominantly privately funded and some may be full, or part funded by local authorities or other social care organisations.

The Modern Slavery Act 2015 is committed to protecting people and their human rights and this is a commitment from Havant Homecare to uphold this legislation and provide the same level of respect and autonomy to employees and others as well as our customers.

Human trafficking and modern slavery have a huge impact on victims and their families, we all have a duty to protect others and to eradicate such acts as well as enjoying the freedoms of The Human Rights Act. Our protections and observations start with a robust recruitment process by undertaking identity checks to ensure that we are proactively being vigilante and reducing the risk of modern slavery although we recognise that risk may not be entirely eradicated, and human traffickers become more innovative in their techniques.

As an equal opportunity employer, we employ people from our local communities, some of whom may be people who have chosen to settle in the UK from overseas. We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, kind and caring working environment for all our employees and actively encourage them to exercise their right to report any concerns they may have.

Recruitment

We check everyone’s identity as well as other checks to ensure that the person is who they say they are for their protection and that of our customers. We commit to undertaking recruitment for ourselves and do not employ temporary staff via other organisations to ensure that we reduce the risk to workers and customers. Part of the recruitment process is to ensure that the person we are considering recruitment has a right to work check and all information gathered forms part of their completed personal profile.

Training and Awareness

All employees must read the Modern Slavery Policy and confirm that they have read and understand it. This ensures that all employees have an awareness and understand the duty of us all to protect others from slavery.
